The Detective is Already Dead Season 2 has unveiled a new key visual and is set to be released in 2026. The announcement for this much-anticipated sequel came in July 2022, and fans can look forward to a teaser visual scheduled for release on September 1, 2024, featuring the character Siesta.

Director Manabu Kurihara will reprise his role at studio ENGI, with Deko Akao returning to script the series and Yosuke Ito as the character designer. Below is the new visual:

The Detective is Already Dead is a Japanese light novel series authored by Nigozyu and illustrated by Umibozu. Media Factory began publishing the series in November 2019, with 12 volumes available as of November 2024, and the anticipated Volume 13 set for release in Japan on July 25, 2025. Additionally, the series has spawned two manga adaptations: one illustrated by Mugiko (2020-2023) and another by Poni (2021-2022).
