Cygames, Inc. has added another honor to its portfolio with
Umamusume: Pretty Derby winning the Best Mobile Game award at the 2025 Game Awards.
During the acceptance speech, Motohiro Okubo, CEO of Cygames America, expressed gratitude, stating:

Umamusume: Pretty Derby
Launched in Japan in February 2021,
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a mobile game utilizing gacha mechanics, featuring female anthropomorphized versions of famous racehorses.
The game was later made available on Windows in March 2021, followed by Korean and Traditional Chinese versions in 2022. In June 2025, the global edition was released through Steam, iOS, and Android.
Since its debut, the Umamusume franchise has expanded into various media, including animes produced by studios like P.A. Works and Studio Kai, multiple manga series, OVAs, live events, a spin-off game, a YouTube channel, and a theatrical film.
In the game, players train female anthropomorphic versions of historical racehorses and guide them through their racing careers. The franchise has gained significant popularity among both otaku and horse racing fans, with the latter group noting its role in attracting younger audiences to the sport.
Cygames has collaborated with prestigious events like
The Kentucky Derby
and the
Grand Prix de Paris to promote Umamusume and its intellectual properties.
