Animated Adaptation of Hero Killer Announced
Jaedam Media, the publisher behind the acclaimed webtoon Hero Killer, created by Kkulbeol (story) and Beolkkul (art), has officially announced that the series will receive an animated adaptation. This project is a collaboration with the French streaming service Animation Digital Network (ADN).
Details of the Collaboration
According to reports from Nate News, the animation production contract was finalized during the SPP International Content Market 2025. Hwang Nam-yong, CEO of Jaedam Media, highlighted that this collaboration with ADN underscores the growing competitiveness of webtoons in the global animation market. Bastien Guetta, Head of Content Development at ADN, expressed his enthusiasm for webtoons, believing they will significantly impact the global content landscape. He also indicated ADN’s intent to pursue additional animated adaptations of Korean intellectual properties in the future.
Background on the Adaptation
The animated adaptation of Hero Killer follows ADN’s previous partnerships with various Japanese companies such as SKY Perfect Pictures and Kodansha, particularly on the Fermat Kitchen anime project, where ADN General Manager Julien Lemoine played a key role. Additionally, crowdfunding platform CAMPFIRE has recently joined the production committee for Fermat Kitchen.
